Saturday was a long day. Set out at 10:00am to ConDFW. Watched Michelle Muenzler's (aka
mmuenzler's) panel. It looked like a lot of fun.
Met up with Michelle, JM McDermott, and William Ledbetter afterward and got introduced to several writerly types. Note to self: I need some fiction-writing business cards.
I attended Michelle, Joe, and Bill's readings as well. Good stories, guys!
After that we socialized a little and Michelle and Joe organized a dinner at Genroku Sushi over in Richardson's China Town.
About 8:30pm we were done and I got the call that the D&D game was on, so I waved adios and went off to kill Gnolls.
During the day, there were a blur of faces and names, almost all of them pleasant company. I am not good with names at the best of times. I will attempt a few shout-outs, and my apologies to everyone else, but these were the only names I managed to retain:
Jaye Wells was a hoot. Grats to her on her first novel, Red Headed Step Child, coming out soon!
Lou Antonelli was fun to talk to about East Texas (where I lived for about 7 of the formative years of my life). Great sense of humor.
Delilah Rehm, a member of Bill and Michelle's writer's group, who was also a blast to hang with.
I also met several of the members of the local writer's workshop (Saturday and Wednesday group). Well, met is an exaggeration. I sat at a table in the bar with them and listened to them tell tall tales :)
PS -- Good luck in Atlanta, Joe!
